4.12.3. SAS with Other ω-Based Turbulence Models

The SAS approach can be combined not only with the SST model, but also with several other -based turbulence models:

  • Standard -, BSL -, and Generalized - (GEKO)

  • Transition SST

  •  -based Reynolds stress model (RSM) and Explicit Algebraic Reynolds stress model (EARSM)

Adding the SAS capability to one of these models will enable the additional source term (as defined in Equation 4–265) in the -based equation. If the SAS capability is combined with the BSL (BSL -, Stress-BSL, WJ-BSL-EARSM), then the coefficients and in Equation 4–270 are the model coefficients of the BSL model. If combined with GEKO, then and are determined from the GEKO model coefficients. For all other combinations, the model coefficients of the SST model are used. Furthermore, in the SAS term these coefficients do not include the compressibility effects.
