19.1.2. FMU-CHT coupling method

Battery cell manufacturers and some original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) may have their own electrochemical models for the electrical performance of their batteries. The FMU-CHT coupling method provides you with the flexibility to use your own electrochemical models, especially your own equivalent circuit-based models (ECMs) by importing it into Ansys Fluent through FMUs.

In this method, Joule heating can be included. The set of equations solved by Ansys Fluent is the same as in the CHT coupling method (see CHT Coupling Method). The only difference is that the heat generation rate is computed from the FMU during a simulation, instead of being specified directly.
