1.2. Known Limitations in Ansys EnSight 2024 R2

This section lists limitations that are known to exist in Ansys EnSight. Where possible, suggested workarounds are provided.

  • When using a noVNC session to display EnVision/EnSight within an Ansys Dynamic Reporting (Nexus) report while using Firefox, there can be a long delay in establishing the VNC connection. This can cause the EnVision session to not launch. The workaround is to use Chrome or Edge. (730659)

  • When using Case linking and group definitions of parts, the subsequent cases do not receive the same grouping as created in the first case. This does not have any performance impact, although the structure and layout of the non-grouped cases is awkward to work with. An enhancement request to create consistent grouping layout across linked cases has been made for future release. (632724)

  • When working with Interactive Probes and States in EnSight, there is not a per-state attribute that is captured for the Probe attributes. This means that for the States in EnSight, the probes act independently. This can result in undesirable visibility in certain states. (546607)

  • For immersed solid zones, from CFX, via the CFF format, variables are not explicitly available on the IMS Walls from their neighboring cell nodes. (509370)

  • EnSight may not be able to save images or animations on Linux systems using AMD hardware.

Software rendering can be used to work around the problem, but it will slow down all rendering substantially. Add -X to the command line to switch to software rendering. (866732)
