Structural Solution Progression

By default, Discovery will automatically determine the substep progression in a nonlinear simulation. You can explicitly set the modeling method by going to Simulation Options in the ribbon of the Simulation tab and modifying the Additional Structural Options. This option only affects solutions when in Refine.

To set the substep progression:

1. Select Specify solution progression to override the values set by Discovery.
2. Specify the Initial number of substeps that the solver will use initially.
3. Specify the Minimum number of substeps; if Discovery determines fewer substeps are needed, then it will not reduce the substeps below this number.
4. Specify the Maximum number of substeps; if Discovery determines more substeps are needed, then it will not increase the substeps above this number.
