Specifying a Velocity Constraint

To set a velocity:
  1. Select Velocity from the dropdown menu of the Structural tool in the Physics group of the Simulation tab, or by selecting the Velocity tool in the Structural condition HUD.
  2. Select one or more bodies.

If your model contains Named Selections, you can click Advanced filters, select Link named selections, and choose one from the list.

  3. Set the cylindrical frame that defines the origin of the rotation. Use the Direction tool or Alt-click to select a face or edge. If you do not have geometry to set the origin of the rotational axis, select Override rotation axis origin and define the origin.
  4. Enter the rotational Velocity at which the selected bodies are to be rotated. The values entered are in a local coordinate system, determined from the location selection, with x normal to a plane, or along a cylinder, with the centroid located at the center.
Optionally, keep specific directions as free to move, or if the velocity is fixed, specify how quickly they are to be moved.
