Setting an Acceleration Constraint

To specify an acceleration constraint:
  1. Select Acceleration from the dropdown menu of the Structural tool in the Physics group of the Simulation tab, or by selecting the Acceleration tool in the Structural condition HUD.
  2. Select one or more bodies.

If your model contains Named Selections, you can click Advanced filters, select Link named selections, and choose one from the list.

  3. Define the direction for the acceleration. Use the Direction tool or Alt-click to select a face or edge.
  4. Specify at which Acceleration the selected bodies are to be moved by. The values entered are in a local coordinate system, determined from the location selection, with x normal to a plane, or along a cylinder, with the centroid located at the center.
Optionally, keep specific directions as free to move, or if fixed, specify at which acceleration they are to be moved.
