Fillet Welds Tool Guides and Options

Fillet Welds Tool Guides

The following tool guides are available:

Select generation locations This tool enables you to select geometry on which you want to define welds. Discovery automatically detects all welds on that geometry.
Select excluded locations This tool enables you to select locations from which welds are excluded.

Fillet Welds Tool Options

The following options are available:

Size The size of the weld.
Intermittent welds Select if you want discontinuous welding.
Length The length of each weld in the intermittent weld.
Pitch The distance between the center of one weld to the next. Display-only.
Number The number of welds. Display-only.
Minimum pitch Select to define the minimum distance between the center of one weld and the next. This value must be greater than the length. If minimum pitch isn’t defined, the minimum distance defaults to 1.5 x weld length. For more information on how Discovery uses minimum pitch and limit number values to automatically adjust intermittent welds to geometry modifications, see Fillet Welds.
Limit number Select to limit the number of welds along the weld length. For more information on how Discovery uses minimum pitch and limit number values to automatically adjust intermittent welds to geometry modifications, see Fillet Welds.
Name The name for the weld definition. You can enter this name after the weld definition is created.
Detection distance Select to modify the default weld detection distance on selected geometry, then enter Min and Max distance values.
Save to local library Select to save the weld definition to a local library for re-use.
Remove from local library Select to remove the weld definition from a local library.
