Saving Scenes

You can save images using Scene to capture model views. A scene can include the model orientation and visibility with material coloring, results display definition including notations and legend, as well as results presentation options.

  • A saved scene can be exported in 2D or 3D formats for use outside of Discovery.
  • Saved scene snapshots are scenes with specific results applied and can be exported to a ZIP archive.

To export a particular scene, switch to the simulation from which you want results. Export to 2D files to PNG format. Export 3D files to the Glb format, a special single-file 3D model format of GLTF type.

It can be used to view models, or in reports since these images are of better quality than inserted screen captures. You can then insert it into your document or presentation to view the static image. This format is supported only if Outer contours on All faces or Streamlines and curved Vectors (in Refine) are selected. (Streamlines and curved vectors are only available for Fluids physics types.)

Note: Explore only supports up-to-date result in one simulation at a time, so if you have multiple simulations, only scenes in one simulation will contain results. If you want results from multiple simulations, then switch to the simulation that you want results from, solve, and then create the report, you can do this for each simulation that you require results from.
