When a job is submitted to an HPC cluster via DCG, a file transfer agent is used to transfer files from the local DCG client machine to a remote HPC server and provide visibility into file transfers. The agent serves as a gateway to a remote endpoint, using a token to handle any authentication required to access the endpoint.
When the local agent is connected to a remote endpoint it can utilize HPC Services at the endpoint. Some HPC Services will call back to the local agent to perform actions such as 'upload files'.
The File Transfer Agent page enables you to create connections between the file transfer agent and remote servers, monitor the status of connections, reconnect the agent when a connection is lost, and delete connections.
