Creating a Connection

To enable file transfers from the local machine to a remote HPC server, you must connect the local file transfer agent to the remote server. Creating a connection means registering the local machine in the endpoint map of the remote host. This enables DCG to determine the endpoint (TCP/IP port) to which the server application is listening.

To create a connection to a remote machine:

  1. In the navigation panel, under Configurations, select File Transfer Agent.

  2. In the Transfer Agent Connections section, click New Connection.

  3. In the Register Endpoint dialog box, specify the following settings:

    SettingDescription
Display nameThe name that the remote computer uses to identify itself to other computers.
DescriptionA description of the remote computer.
    URLURL of the remote computer.
  4. Click Register. A connection is established between the local agent and the remote endpoint.
