If turbulent particle dispersion is enabled, you will need to track a much larger number of particles (usually an order of magnitude higher) because a stochastic method is used. This will greatly increase computational time; therefore, this is most often performed as a post-process where there is only one particle iteration.
If turbulent dispersion is used in an iterative situation, it may not be possible to achieve complete convergence because of the stochastic nature of the sources to the continuous phase, although the random number generator used in determining the eddies is reset on each particle iteration.
