The problems solved in this document and the method of solution were selected with verification as the primary objective. Some problems could have been solved more directly or in a manner other than the way presented. In some cases the same problem is solved in several different ways to demonstrate and verify other elements or capabilities of the program.

Since Mechanical APDL is a program capable of solving very complicated practical engineering problems having no closed-form theoretical solutions, the relatively simple problems solved in this document do not illustrate the full capability of the Mechanical APDL program.
