The bottom surface of the flat slab A is fixed in the Y direction, and surface B is fixed in the X direction. At surface D, a constant amplitude oscillatory displacement is prescribed in the X direction. At surface E, oscillatory pressure in the X direction is applied with a minimum and maximum amplitude of 16.5 and 550 MPa, respectfully. The axial load at E and displacement at D have the same time evolution history as shown in Figure 64.2: Prescribed displacement, Ux at D and pressure at E. The loading is applied in two loading steps:
The indenter is pressed against the slab (at C, Fy = - 1334/6.4).
The oscillatory displacement is applied on the top (D) with five different amplitudes: 0.000, 0.073, 0.147, 0.184 and 0.220 mm.
The problem is simulated for six oscillating cycles to calculate the fretting fatigue damage.
