Photometric Calc

With Photometric Calc, you can make operations on maps.

  1. From Start menu, click All Programs, Ansys, Speos Labs, Labs, Photometric Calc.

    -Or-

    Click Photometric Calc .

  2. Select the operation and the source file(s) to process.

Tip: You can make a multi-selection of files.

Depending on the operation, the source files can be .xmp, .ldt

.xmp maps are compatible with all types of operation. The other source file types are compatible with Addition or Subtraction operations only.

    File addition

    file1 + file2

    File subtraction

    file1 - file2

For photometric/radiometric map or if a specific wavelength of a spectral map is selected, subtraction operation gives the raw results (negative and positive values). For colorimetric map or if all wavelength of a spectral map is selected, subtraction operation clamps negative values to zero. Resulted map has only positive values.

    Value multiplication

    map1 * value

    Map multiplication

    map1 * map2

You can only multiply photometric maps. If the maps are colorimetric or spectral, they must be exported (as extended maps) and converted into photometric or radiometric maps. If two maps with layers are multiplied, the layers will be multiplied together (for example in the first layer, there will be: source 1*source1, in the second layer source 2* source 2 etc.)

    Map division

map1 / map2 Map division does not work with spectral or colorimetric maps.

    Vertical axis symmetry

Makes a vertical axis symmetry on the data of map1.

    Horizontal axis symmetry

Makes an horizontal axis symmetry on the data of map1.

    Vertical flip

Makes a vertical mirror on the data of map1 (rotation around a horizontal axis).

    Horizontal flip

Makes an horizontal mirror on the data of map1 (rotation around a vertical axis).

    Rotation

Rotates map1 with an angle. You must type the angle value in degrees.

    Merge results

Makes an addition of 2 or more XMP files taking into account the number of integrated rays of each one.

You cannot merge spectral or colorimetric XMP map, defined for a different spectral sampling.

For colorimetric and spectral map separated by Source, source spectrum must be the same layer by layer.

Note: To merge two XMP files, the layer order and the layer names should be identical in both files. Otherwise, the merge will fail.

    Map union

Creates a spectral or an extended map of 2 or more xmp files with all the layers of each file you selected.

    Spectrum multiplication

Makes the multiplication of a basic or a spectral map by a .spectrum file.

    Signal to noise ratio

The division is not made source by source but on the complete map with the possibility to visualize the contribution to the signal to noise ratio from each source. Signal Noise Ratio = Luminance map1/Luminance map2. This operation works with basic, extended and spectral maps.

    Absolute value

  3. In the Result field, define the path and the name of the result file to be saved.

  4. Click Process to open the result.
