Creating an Observer View

What is an Observer View?

The Observer View creates a multiple views file of a same point of interest around which you can turn.

In the Speos simulation, several cameras are placed around the point of interest to which they are orientated. Each camera generates a .xmp file at the end of the simulation.

How to create an Observer View?

Images should have same dimensions and same number of sources.

  1. Click Creation, Create an Observer View.

  2. Click Add and select the .xmp files you want to add to the .speos360 file.

Warning: The number of selected images can be limited by the computer memory.

Virtual Reality Lab automatically order the .xmp files according to their spherical coordinates H and V.

  3. Modify xmp spherical coordinates (H and V):

    1. Check Edit Selection.

    2. Select one or more .xmp files.

    3. Modify Horizontal angle of selection and Vertical angle of selection.

  4. If you want to apply an angular offset on all .xmp files at the same time:

    1. Make sure Edit selection is unchecked.

    2. Set Horizontal angular offset and Vertical angular offset.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Save the view as an .speos360 file.

    The Observer View appears.

The view is blocked at minimum and maximum angles except when the rotation on the axis is complete.

Note: For an observer having views with coordinates not aligned along vertical nor horizontal direction, note that: - Keyboard navigation do not support diagonal switch. Top and down keys only support vertical rotation and left/right horizontal rotation. - Mouse navigation requires to exactly align the mouse translation. In case non-adjacent views have to be used, views can be aligned on the same axis by setting a rotation only on the horizontal axis, or only on the vertical axis. It will then be possible to switch between views by using the keyboard arrows or using the mouse with horizontal or vertical moves.
