HMD Systems
The following page provides you with information on the use of an HMD systems when deploying a VR file with Virtual Reality Lab.
Description
To improve the immersive experience, Virtual Reality Lab can deploy a VR Observer or Immersive file (*.OptisVR or *.Speos360) on a HMD system so that you can better asses what you are designing.
Prerequisites
To deploy a VR file on a HMD system you need to install SteamVR and HMD Driver on your machine.
To use SteamVR, in SteamVR, make sure OpenXR Runtime is set to SteamVR:
- Go to Settings and activate Advanced Settings.
- Go th the Developer section, and make sure the Current OpenXR Runtime is set to SteamVR.
Controllers Compatibility
Note:
Controllers are only compatible with Observer files.
Controllers use is optional when deploying an Observer file on a HMD system.
Virtual Reality Lab is compatible with the following controllers:
- HTC Vive controllers
- Meta / Oculus controllers
HTC Vive Controller Operations
Right hand:
- Shift current angle = click trackpad (up, down, left, right)
- Cancel angle shift = pull trigger
- Toggle screen's automatic rotation = squeeze the controller
Left hand:
- Change current Virtual Lighting Controller configuration = click trackpad (up, down)
- Change luminance = click trackpad (up, down)
HTC Vive Controller Operations
Right hand:
- Shift current angle = move thumbstick (up, down, left, right)
- Cancel angle shift = click "B" button
- Toggle screen's automatic rotation = click "A" button
Left hand:
- Change current Virtual Lighting Controller configuration = move thumbstick (up, down)
- Change luminance = move thumbstick (up, down)
