Understanding the Regulation Report

The Regulation Report is composed of different panels that you can show or hide at your convenience.

Title (1) and Subtitle (2)

Function, Category, GRAA (Geographical Regulation Area Acronym), Subtitle are field that you can fill in the Specification ribbon of the Measures tool when a non-conoscopic intensity map is loaded.

The Title displays the concatenation of the contents of the Function, Category and GRAA fields.

The Subtitle displays the content of the Subtitle field.

Note: The Title and Subtitle panels are not displayed if they have no content.
Note: Minimum (%) and Maximum (%) fields allow you to define the Minimum Specification and Maximum Specification in % of the Minimum and Maximum (regulation) for all areas at once.

Summary (3)

The summary gives you a brief overview of the results.
  • Minimum of regulation refers to the worst score (smallest number, if any) of a measurement area, and is expressed as a percentage of the minimum regulation.

Example: "25% (200 cd)" in red numbers means that the measurement result (50 cd) is one quarter of the minimum allowed (200 cd).

  • Maximum of regulation refers to the worst score (greatest number, if any) of a measurement area, and is expressed as a percentage of the maximum regulation.

Example: "75% (200 cd)" in orange or green numbers means that the measurement result (150 cd) is three quarters of the maximum allowed (200 cd).

  • Flux in regulation zone refers to the total flux inside the smallest rectangle that can contains all measurement areas, except the visibility ones.
  • Minimum corresponds to the position and value of the minimum of the map.
  • Maximum corresponds to the position and value of the maximum of the map.
  • Fails list the seven biggest measurement failures in two lists:
    • A Regulation fails list (red)
    • A Specification fails list (orange)

Regulation Fails

  • Regulation fails are displayed in the red list.
  • Regulation fails list lists the most critical regulation fails, from the most critical to the less critical.
  • Each regulation fail is expressed as a percentage of the regulation limit displayed in brackets.
  • The most critical regulation fail corresponds to the farthest fail from a limit.

Specification Fails

  • Specification fails are displayed in the orange list.
  • A Specification fail means the Regulation passed or that there is no regulation limit set.
  • Specification fails list lists the most critical specification fails, from the most critical to the less critical.
  • Each specification fail is expressed as a percentage of the regulation limit displayed in brackets.
  • The most critical specification fail corresponds to the fail with the smallest margin according to the regulation limit. That means, the specification fail is close to be a regulation fail.
  • When a specification fail is displayed with no value, that means no regulation limit is set.

Legend (4)

The Legend panel provides you with a non-editable display of the scale level, and the Overlap grid and Visibility options.

You can modify the luminous intensity scale level in the Level tool and by changing the scale type in the color list.

Overlap grid

Overlap grid allows you to display the regulation grid view over the XMP result.

Note: If all areas are not points or are not small enough to be considered as a point (maximum size of 0.5 degrees), Overlap grid option is disabled.
Overlap grid deactivated Overlap grid activated

Visibility

Visibility allows you to display a visibility zone in the 2D view of the XMP result.

To create a visibility zone:
  • At least three areas must be created and each area name must begin with the prefix Visibility_.

    Otherwise Visibility option is disabled.

  • Each area must be a point or a small area (maximum size of 0.5 degrees).
  • The order in which the visibility measurement areas appear in the Measures tool determines the drawing of the visibility zone contour.

Logos (5)

The footer panel contains the Ansys and customer logos.
