LiDAR Simulation Report - CPU

Performance Analysis

Performance Analysis section displays information regarding:
  • the date and time of the initialization/termination and duration of the simulation.
  • the computer details corresponding to the computer resources used to run the simulation.

the computer details are useful to assess your needs with Speos HPC.

Power Report

Power Report section lists the following information:
  • Number of emitted rays
  • Absorbed energy corresponds to the energy of the rays that are absorbed during the propagation by one element of the system.
  • Error energy corresponds to the energy of the rays that are lost to propagation error.

For more information on the error types, refer to Propagation Errors.

  • Generated energy corresponds to the energy of the rays randomly emitted by the sources the using Monte Carlo algorithm, during the simulation.

Radiometric generated energy is always equal to the radiometric enrgy emitted by the sources.

  • Energy emitted by the sources corresponds to the user defined energy of the sources.
  • Energy of stopped rays corresponds to the energy of the rays that are stopped during the propagation because they have reached the Maximum number of surface interactions.
  • Radiated energy corresponds to the energy of the rays that leave the system and that will not interact with it anymore.
Note: Error energy and Energy of stopped rays need to be carefully checked after a simulation as they need to be as low as possible to avoid biased result.
Important: Speos compute the sources total energy from scanning and rotating pulse parameters contained in the Scanning and Rotating Sequences files:
  • For Scanning LiDAR, Speos accumulates the pulses energy.
  • For Rotating LiDAR, Speos takes the value computed for scanning and multiplies it by number of rotations.

Error Report

Error Report section displays total number of errors and the list of the error types if any.

For more information on the error types, refer to Propagation Errors.

Results

Results section displays the preview of the results and their associated details, and the links to the results.

Geometry Report

Geometry Report section displays information regarding:
  • the number of geometries included in the simulation (number of faces/bodies)
  • the ray tracing technique used for the simulation
  • the body List which lists the geometries included in the simulation and their associated Optical Properties applied.

Simulation Parameters

Simulation Parameters section lists all the simulation settings with their input value.

LiDAR Sensor

LiDAR Sensor section lists the sensor settings with their input value used.
