Flutes

Flutes are shaped by the geometrical angle between tangents of the support.

Flutes are shaped by specifying the geometrical angles between tangents of the support and of the optical surface.

By adjusting the flutes curvature, you can drive the angular spread of the beam.

  • Start angle: Angle between the vector tangent to the support and the vector tangent to the Flute.

  • End angle: Angle between the vector tangent to the support and the vector tangent to the Flute.
  • Orientation: the flutes can be defined as concave or convex.
    Convex Flutes Concave Flutes

Flutes can also be made of several parts when the support has holes in it or has an irregular shape.
