Using the Speos File Analysis

The following procedure helps you open and use the Speos File Analysis tool to quickly see potential incorrect or missing file paths.

To use the Speos Files Analysis tool:

Prerequisites: You must have opened a project.
  1. In Speos, right-click the project tab.

  2. Select List file references.
Note: You can click each column header to sort them
The Speos Files Analysis tool opens and lists all the input references of the project.

  3. According to your needs on a file, you can right-click a file reference line and:
Important: The Speos Files Analysis tool only takes action on the features used in the project. It does not replace/erase/delete files on the FileSystem.
    • Refresh

Refresh action allows to update the file reference line selected if a modification has been done on it (file replacement in the definition, filename modification, etc.).

    • Copy selected path(s)

Copy select path(s) action allows you to multi-select and copy several lines of the list and paste them in a text editor or else of your choosing.

This is particularly useful if you want to export the list of all project dependencies, to create a report, to make impact management, a script processing, etc.

    • Replace file path with

Replace file path with action replaces the file path (meaning the string of characters "C:\...\...`file.ext") in the reference of the object. The Speos object points to another file.

No file has been replaced in the FileSystem.

    • Replace folder path with

Replace folder path with action replaces the folder path (meaning the string of characters "C:\...\foldername") in the reference of the object.

Note: When performing this action, make sure that the file referenced in the object (or a file with the same name and extension) is present in the folder that will replace the previous one. Otherwise an error will be raised.
    • Clear

Clear action erases the field filled by the input reference in the Speos feature. The Speos feature has no longer input reference for this field.

No file has been erased on the FileSystem.

Note: If the Copy input files option is activated in the Speos options, the file of the new file path will be copied in the Speos input files folder.
  4. Click Close when you are done with the Speos Files Analysis tool.
