Performing a Single-Sensor Light Expert Analysis

The following procedure helps you perform a light expert analysis on one sensor.

To perform a Single-Sensor Light Expert Analysis:

  1. Create a Direct, Inverse, or Interactive simulation.
  2. Set Light Expert to True.
  3. In case of a Direct or Inverse simulation:
    1. Define the LPF max path.

We recommend you to set a LPF max path parameter equivalent to the number of rays propagated in the system. Otherwise, when LPF max path is much more smaller than the number of rays, information will not be integrated in the analysis.

Warning: The *.lpf file size increases with the number of rays interaction. The more interactions in the system, the bigger the *.lpf file size. To avoid such situation, you can create small sensor (not a lot of pixel) to cover the area on which you want to perform the Light Expert analysis with the *.lpf file.
    2. Add one or more sensors to the Sensors list of the simulation.
The LXP check box is automatically activated for all compatible sensors whether the sensor is already listed or added afterwards. If you do not want LXP activated for a sensor, uncheck LXP for the sensor.
  4. Run the simulation.
  5. To visualize and analyze the result, double-click the *.lpf or *.lp3.
Refer to Light Path Finder Results according to the analysis to perform.
