Creating a VOP on Surface

This procedure helps you define a non-closed body in a simulation to be considered as a VOP on Surface.

To create a VOP on Surface:

Prerequisites: Make sure that the surfaces you want to consider as a VOP on Surface have the same material applied and that material has volume property (Optic or Library).
Note: If a Face Optical Properties material (FOP) is applied on a part of a surface used for the VOP on Surface, the FOP still applies on the part of the resulting body.
  1. In the Structure tree, select several geometries.
  2. In the Groups tree, click Create NS to create a group composed of the selected geometries.
  3. In the Speos Simulation tree, open a Simulation Definition.
  4. In the 3D view, click , then click to select the created group.
  5. In the Groups tree, select the group to consider for the VOP on Surface.
  6. In the 3D view, click Validate .
The group is included in the Simulation Definition and will be considered as a VOP on Surface during the simulation run.
