Understanding the Locate Material Tool
With the Locate Material tool you can quickly distinguish which material is applied on which geometry and which geometries do not have any material applied.
Important: The visualization of the material tool and the selection of geometries are
independent and should not be mixed up. When you highlight materials, geometries are not selected.
Specific options are dedicated to the selection of geometries.

Material Highlight

Materials applied on bodies appear highlighted in the 3D view according to the color visualization selected. |

Material applied on faces appear highlighted with black edges in the 3D view according to the color visualization selected. |

Geometries (Surface or Body) with no material appear highlighted in red. |

Geometry Selection
Besides highlighting the materials, the Locate Material tool allows you to quickly select the geometries on which materials are applied, or select the geometries on which no materials are applied.
