Geometry Modeler

The geometry modeler manages how geometries are created and stored in SpaceClaim.

As of version 2024 R1, Speos relies on the Parasolid modeler. The ACIS modeler has been removed.

The conversion from a *.scdoc to a *.scdocx still works.

Note: Projects saved with the Parasolid modeler BETA in version 2021 R2 might not be supported in version 2022 R1 and future releases.

Modeler Limitations

Bounding Box Dimension

The bounding box dimension is limited to [-500m ; 500m] in every direction for a component. You can have several components in a project as long as each component box respects the size limit.

  • If you import a project .scdoc into a *.scdocx or import a CAD file, make sure each component of the project is smaller than the bounding box dimensions.
  • If you directly create a project, make sure to create objects that are smaller than the bounding box dimensions.

Meshing

In case of a thin body, make sure to apply a fixed Meshing sag mode and a Meshing sag value smaller than the thickness of the body. Otherwise you may generate incorrect results.

For more information on Meshing, refer to the Meshing chapter.

Scale Formats

Only use the Standard Length scale is supported by Speos. The Standard Length scale corresponds to the Millimeters, Centimeters, and Meters Lengths.

If you set a length smaller than Millimeters via the SpaceClaim Options, only the SpaceClaim environment will be set to this scale and not the Speos one.
