MI Materials Gateway supports both central installation and central
deployment.
- Central installation
- The host software is installed on a server machine, and users run the
executable from another location on the network
- Central deployment
- The host software is distributed onto client machines, as if the installer
had been run locally. Usually this is done using batched commands, or
scripts which push the necessary files onto client machines during down
time, for example, overnight.
To deploy the software components:
-
From the Ansys Customer Portal, download the Granta MI Enterprise package (GRANTAMIENTERPRISE_2026R1_WINX64.zip) and unpack
the files to a location from where they can be distributed.
-
In the Software directory, select the Gateway package you need to
extract:
- MIMaterialsGateway_2026_R1.zip
- MIMaterialsGateway_2026_R1_for_ANSA_Linux_Edition.zip
- MIMaterialsGateway_2026_R1_for_Ansys_Workbench_Linux_Edition.zip
-
Select the files that are needed for the host application you are integrating
with.
As a minimum you need:
- The Platform components (Platform.2026.1.guid.zip)
- The Integration components
(Host_nameHost_version2026.1.zip)
-
Deploy the software component files using a script, or an automated deployment
tool.
-
Set the environment variable
GATEWAY_DM_EXEDIR to identify the
MI Materials Gateway installation.
- Optional:
In windows environments, you can add the MI Materials Gateway to the
applications loaded on startup.
- Optional:
Set up any client-side configuration needed.
-
Depending on the host application, ensure that the required changes are made to
the host application system files, using the details for your host
application:
