Running a saved custom search
You can run your saved custom searches from a number of locations in the Granta MI web application, and from MI Materials Gateway.
To run a saved custom search from one of these locations, do the following:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| From the Granta MI application main menu | Click then select the search to run it. |
| From the Custom Searches application | Select the search, and click |
| From MI Materials Gateway | Choose Custom Search, click |
Warning:
When you run a saved custom search, the search results may be different to those
previously returned. This could be due to any of the following reasons:
- Data changes - including the addition or removal of databases, tables, folders, and records, as well as changes to data values.
- Database schema changes - such as the removal of Attributes that are being used as search criteria.
- Access control - Search results will only ever include records that you are permitted to see. Not all users may have the same privileges in access-controlled databases.
- Version control - In version-controlled tables, if data used to define the criteria is present in Unreleased records, criteria that are valid when running the search in Edit Mode will not be valid when running it in Read Mode (where Unreleased records are hidden).
- Profiles - In MI Materials Gateway, search results are filtered by your current profile.
