Data Flow User Manager Roles

User Manager Roles for use with MI Data Flow can be added via the OneMI.DataFlowUsersGroupNames setting.

Entering the required role names in this setting adds the named Roles in User Manager. Roles created in this way are added to the set of existing User Manager Roles that derive from security and access control, and may be used in cases where a workflow designer wants to grant permissions on a workflow step to a group of users that doesn't have a corresponding security or access control role.

You can enter multiple role names here, separated by commas, for example:

DF_ALLOYS, dataflow_polymer_users.

When a Role specified in OneMI.DataFlowUsersGroupNames is included in the Authorized Roles fields in a workflow definition, users who are members of that Role are granted the required privileges to perform workflow actions, such as creating or updating a record, or reviewing or approving a request.

For example, here, a role named DF_USERS is specified in the OneMI.DataFlowUsersGroupNames setting, and is included in the Authorized Roles and Authorized Workflow Status Reviewers fields in the workflow definition for a test request workflow.

Only users who are assigned to the DF_USERS Role in User Manager will be able to start an instance of this workflow, or review its status in Data Flow Manager.
