Excel Template Definitions
When exporting data from Granta MI to Excel, a template is required to define the structure of the export workbooks.
Excel export templates for Granta MI contain a number of specialized worksheets, including one or more data worksheets, where data values and record properties can be viewed, entered, and/or edited. Additional template worksheets are used to define:
- Mappings from data items to named Attributes, Meta-Attributes, and Parameters in a specific database and Table
- Data validation rules to ensure that data is entered in the correct format
- Styling options for data worksheets (company logo, heading color, and boilerplate text such as notes on how to fill in data values)
- Configuration options for data import/re-import, including new record naming rules, placement options, and options to specify how import conflicts should be resolved.
Excel Template Definitions provide standard export templates that are available to users in MI Viewer and in the MI Export app.
