Working with Ansys Discovery
Granta Selector can be launched from Ansys Discovery, and selection results exported into the correct format.
Launching Granta Selector from Ansys Discovery
No add-in is required to launch Granta Selector from within Ansys Discovery.
If you have both Granta Selector and Granta EduPack installed, Discovery will launch Granta Selector.
You are prompted to save any changes you have made to the selection project when closing Granta Selector. Note that these changes (and therefore selection stages and charts) will not be saved in Ansys Discovery.
Exporting selection results
Data exported to Ansys Discovery from Granta Selector must be saved in your Shared or Local material library locations before you can view the materials in Discovery.
The default local library location is C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Ansys_Inc\Discovery\LocalMaterialLibrary\.
The materials list should update automatically. If your exported materials are not visible:
- Double-check the exported files are in the correct location (shared and local folders are listed under Material Defaults).
- Restart Discovery to refresh the materials list.
