Ansys Electronic Desktop

In Ansys Electronics Desktop, you can use MI Materials Gateway to import materials to your currently active project.

You can open MI Materials Gateway when you have a project open.

To start MI Materials Gateway, do one of the following:

In the menu bar, select Tools > Toolkit > MI Materials Gateway
In the Project Manager, view Definitions, right-click on Materials and select Edit Library; then in the Edit Libraries window, click MI Materials Gateway.
In the menu bar, select Tools > Edit Libraries > Materials ; then in the Edit Libraries window, click MI Materials Gateway. (This option is only available if your project has previously been saved.)

You can use MI Materials Gateway to find and import materials from your Granta MI database.

The imported CAE material models (material cards) are created as material definitions in your project's local material library, and can be copied to other Ansys Electronics Desktop material libraries as required.

Tip: You need to close MI Materials Gateway to view the imported materials in Ansys Electronics Desktop. If you don't see the materials that you expect, try refreshing the list of materials by closing and reopening the Edit Libraries window.
