Editing in-house materials

Unlike reference materials, you can modify in-house materials to update the data that they contain.

In-house data may be edited in different ways.
  • By modifying the data values in the material datasheet in MI Explore.
  • By exporting the data to an Excel workbook, editing the values in Excel, and then importing the data in the workbook back into MI Pro using MI Import.
  • By importing material cards exported from Granta Selector or from one of the MI Pro Reference databases.
Note: Any changes you make to Preferred Materials will not be visible to CAD and CAE users in MI Materials Gateway immediately. See Communicating changes to other users.
