Importing IDX Files 

Icepak can import Incremental Design eXchange (IDX) files that have been exported from an MCAD or ECAD package. IDX is an XML-based format containing MCAD and ECAD data that allows you to exchange incremental design revisions between ECAD and MCAD applications. IDX import in Ansys Icepak only supports MCAD data.

Overview of Importing IDX Files

The initial IDX file is referred to as the baseline file. Revisions to the design are included in change files. Currently, Ansys Icepak supports the import of IDX baseline files, which generates the design geometry and assigns boundary conditions.
