Correcting Net Misalignments

If your design has traces whose center lines are not connected to any planes or pads or to the center lines of other traces, you must first validate your project. The Validation Results will include a warning. You can have SIwave automatically fix any misalignment issues from the Validation Results window itself.

Alternatively, to correct misalignments manually, you must clear the Auto-fix check box in Validation Results (or cancel the Validation Results window).

These steps can be performed only after a Validation Check has been run.

To check for misaligned nets:

  1. From the Nets workspace, select the nets you want to analyze. Selected nets display with checked boxes.
  2. Click Tools. From the Net Operations box, click the Check for Misalignment icon ().

    3. The Messages Window shows a list of misaligned nets.

To correct the misalignments:

  1. Click Tools. From the Net Operations box, click the Correct Misalignment icon () .

    2. SIwave adds a small trace segment to previously misaligned areas.
