Matl Command
Multiplies or divides the vector field quantity in the top register by a material property. At each tetrahedron, the field quantity is multiplied or divided by the value of the selected material property — taking the different material attributes of each object into account.
To multiply or divide a vector quantity by a material property:
- Click Matl.
The Material Operation dialog box appears.
- Select a property from the Material Properties list. Options include the following, depending on what solution type is assigned:
- Permeability (mu): defined as m0mr where m0 is the permeability of free space
- Differential Permeability (dmu)
- Conductivity (cond)
- Permittivity (epsi)
- Mass Density: based on the value of the Mass Density material property. MassDensity is treated like a named expression. Selecting MassDensity disables the Operation radio buttons for Multiply or Divide in the Material Operations dialog.
- Admittivity
- Select an operation — Multiply or Divide.
- Click OK to multiply or divide the field quantity by a material property or Cancel to stop the operation. If you selected MassDensity and click OK, a scalar named expression MassDensity is pushed onto the stack.
