Remove a Member from a Component

You can remove entities from components. When you do, the component’s border shifts accordingly and its definition changes if pins are removed. Depending on the component’s model type, you may need to make other changes when removing a member of the component.

To remove a single member: in the Layout Editor, right-click the unwanted member in the component and in the shortcut menu, select Components > Remove Pin(s).

To remove multiple members:

  1. Highlight the component.
  2. From the Properties window, select Edit in the Pins row to open the Edit Component window.

  3. From the Edit Component window:
    1. Select the unwanted pin(s).
    2. Click Delete Pins.
    3. Click OK.
  4. Check the component’s model type for whether any updates

If the component is redefined and has a SPICE model that requires more pins, the redefined component has, then update the model, reassign the pins, or give the pins another location.

When a pin is removed from a component with an RLC network models, its pin pair is removed on the Model Info pane in the Component Model window.

When a pin is removed from a component with a S-parameter model, the exact model is removed on the component. A new S-parameter model must be assigned to the component.
