Stopping a Virtual Desktop
When a virtual desktop is in the Running state, it is incurring charges. When a virtual desktop is not being used, it should be stopped.
Go to the project space containing the Running virtual desktop.
In the virtual desktop table row, click Stop. (Note that you must have the Stop permission in the project space.)
Once stopped, the virtual desktop moves into the Stopped state.
If you attempt to stop a virtual desktop via other means (outside of the Ansys Gateway powered by AWS environment), its status will not be properly updated in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS. It will remain Running in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS and continue to incur charges.
For example:
Do not stop a virtual desktop via AWS portal.
Do not stop a Windows virtual desktop using
