Local Drive Mapping
The local drives on your local machine can be automatically mapped to a virtual desktop when you connect to the virtual desktop.
Local drive mapping occurs only if the following conditions are met:
The Allow users to automatically map local disk drives setting is enabled in the Administration settings. This is a global setting that applies to all users in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS. See Allowing or Forbidding Local Drive Mapping on Virtual Machines in the Administration Guide.
The Automatically map local disk drives is enabled in your user settings. (It is enabled by default.) See Enabling or Disabling Local Drive Mapping for your Virtual Desktop Sessions.

Mapping local drives from a Linux machine is not supported.

Although local drive mapping can be convenient for one-time transfers of small- to medium-sized files (<100 MB), it is not recommended for larger files or for files subject to frequent updates. Some applications may not directly offer these drives in their user interface.
By default, all local drives are mapped automatically. You can choose to map only selected local drives if desired or disable drive mapping completely.
