Run a Linux LS-DYNA Virtual Desktop Using SSH

  1. Ensure that the virtual desktop is in the Running state.

  2. If GNOME Desktop was installed on the virtual desktop, click the drop-down next to the Connect button and select SSH instead of Remote Desktop.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Open a command prompt or terminal. SSH to the Linux virtual desktop using the following topic as a guide: Connecting to a Linux Virtual Machine Using SSH.

  5. LS-DYNA and MPI are available in the root directory. For example:

    • LS-DYNA: /LSDYNA-R14.1.0

    • LS-DYNA: /LSDYNA-R14.1.1

    • IntelMPI: /MPI_commonfiles/MPI/Intel/2018.3.222/linx64/bin/mpirun

    Note: Environments and licensing are set. Intel MPI can be called by typing mpirun.
  6. Add local LS-DYNA input files to the Linux virtual desktop using scp. Execute LS-DYNA on the command line.
