What's New
2023 R2 versions of Ansys application packages are available when creating virtual desktops and HPC clusters. See Ansys 2023 R2 Applications.
New 2023 R2 application packages have been added:
Application package Notes Recommended configuration Ansys OptiSLang 2023 R2 Standalone package available for Windows and Linux Ansys optiSLang Configurations Ansys HPC Platform: Core Services Packages to support the setup of Ansys HPC Platform Services (Beta)
Setting Up Ansys HPC Platform Services Ansys HPC Platform: Evaluator The NFS Storage Prep application has been updated. Specifically, some of the fields in its properties have been changed for improved usability:
Field (former name) New name Changes Shared Directory Network Path Network Path for NFS Shared Folder (Source) As noted in the updated field description, the private IP address of the NFS file storage server should be used instead of the hostname when specifying the path of the NFS shared folder. Local mount point Location to mount NFS Shared Folder on Compute Nodes (Destination) The description has been updated to convey the purpose of this field more clearly. -
When creating resources, hpc7a instance types are now available in the US-East-2b and EU-West-1 region. To learn more, see Amazon EC2 Hpc7a Instances.

Upon request, Ansys Support can associate multiple domains (for example, company.com, company.in, and company.co.uk) with a tenant, enabling users whose Ansys ID contains one of those domains to sign in to that tenant.
Upon request, Ansys Support can associate the same domain (for example, company.com) with multiple tenants, enabling users to sign in to multiple tenants using a single Ansys ID.
When an Ansys ID is associated with multiple tenants, a tenant selector is displayed when you sign in to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS, enabling you to choose which tenant you want to access. See Signing In to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS in the Getting Started Guide.
Resolved Issues
-
In cluster setups, Simultaneous Multithreading is no longer enabled on g5 instance types. You can now use g5 for Ansys applications that require Simultaneous Multithreading/Hyper-Threading to be disabled. (873584)
-
When the nodes of a Slurm cluster become unreachable (for example, when the cluster is stopped or deleted), the cluster is now automatically removed from the Slurm controller within a few minutes. This can help prevent issues when attaching a new cluster to the same controller. If you have stopped an existing cluster, the cluster will be added back to the controller when you restart the cluster. (695496)
-
In , the Issue private IP addresses for newly created instances option has been renamed Issue only private IP addresses for newly created virtual machines to clearly relay that only private IP addresses (and not public IP addresses) will be issued. (861084)
-
When Ansys Gateway powered by AWS has been set up using the Express setup option, the Issue only private IP addresses for newly created virtual machines option is now hidden on the page, as this option does not apply in this type of setup. (861084)
-
Tags specified when creating a file storage server are now applied to the resource, enabling proper monitoring of corresponding volumes in the Amazon EC2 console. (862975)
-
The arrow in drop-downs now points downward to properly indicate the direction in which the drop-down will open. (866465)
-
When you select the Table view in a project space, and view the Settings of a selected resource that has a long description, the description text is now neatly wrapped instead of extending over adjacent text. (866440)
