What's New
In Express-setup environments, a new Users page in the Administration section allows administrators to see a list of users who have access to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS and the access level of each user. On this page, administrators can grant or revoke Admin access as needed. See Users in the Administration Guide.
When creating Linux resources, a new AWS CentOS 7.9 by Perforce (x86_64) operating system (OS) image is now available when specifying operating system options and is now the default Linux OS image. For important information about using this image, including conditions and associated costs, see What You Should Know About CentOS by Perforce in the Administration Guide.
Note: The community-based AWS CentOS 7.9 (x86_64) image remains available as an alternative to the Perforce image. Note, however, that 2024 R1 applications for Linux are not supported on machines created using the community-based image.2024 R1 versions of the following Ansys applications are now available to install on Ansys Gateway powered by AWS resources:
VDI HPC Cluster - Discovery
- Electronics Desktop
- Fluids
- License Manager
- LS-DYNA
- LS-DYNA - Cluster Controller

*Ansys Zemax OpticStudio is a new addition to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS. It is supported on Windows virtual desktops.
Note: Ansys 2024 R1 applications for Linux have only been tested on resources that have been created using the AWS CentOS 7.9 by Perforce (x86_64) operating system image. They have not been tested on resources created using the community-based AWS CentOS 7.9 (x86_64) image.- The domains required for the firewall allowlist have changed, see Domains Required for Firewall Allowlist in the Administration Guide for details.
Resolved Issues
Multiple bugs have been addressed which may have prevented virtual machine operations from completing successfully. (1095299)
Going forward, should you experience issues with the starting or stopping of resources, please notify Ansys Support.
Known Limitation
When a cluster is starting, and you make a request to delete it, only the provisioned nodes are deleted. The remaining nodes are still created in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS and this is not visible in the Ansys Gateway powered by AWS portal. If you need to delete the cluster before it is fully provisioned, make sure to delete all the nodes you requested from the AWS console.
