1.8. Create Links Connection

You will now create a Segment To Segment Connection object. This creates internal bushing joints between adjacent chain segments:

  1. Select the Model element in the Project tree.

  2. From the Motion ribbon, click Links Toolkit and select Segment to Segment Connection.

  3. Under the Motion element in the Project tree, right-click the new Segment to Segment Connection object and Rename it as Chain1_To_Chain2_Connection.

  4. In the Details panel for the new Chain1_To_Chain2_Connection object, click in the Links Assembler field and select the Links Assembler that you created above.

  5. Verify that Type is set to Joint and Joint Type to Bushing.

  6. Under Reference, click in the Segment field (where it says Tabular Data) and select Chain1.

  7. Under Mobile, click in the Segment field (where it says Tabular Data) and select Chain2.

    The Details for your new object should appear as shown below:

     

  8. Repeat steps 1 to 7 above to create a similar Chain2_To_Chain1_Connection object, this time using Chain2 as the Reference segment and Chain1 as the Mobile segment, as shown below:
