Changing the schema
Although the Materials data that is supplied with Granta MI is designed to be maintained in the same structure, if you are a Materials Data Owner, you can make additive changes to the Design and Simulation Materials database, and change the display names of items.
Note:
- MI Data Administrator privileges are required to access the Schema Editor and change the database schema.
- Reference databases are intended to be replaced rather than upgraded, so should not have their schemas modified.
- Parts of the schema of the Design and Simulation Materials database that are intended to be maintained and updated by Ansys are protected, and will only be displayed in a read-only mode.
- Always lock a database before making any schema changes so that users are prevented from viewing or editing data while you are making changes. Locking a database means that MI application users who do not have Data Administrator privileges will be unable to see the database until it is unlocked again.
