18.4. Reporting Defects and Problems

Use the support feature in medini analyze to report any problems or other issues when working with the software. The feature creates a .zip archive that you attach to your case in the Ansys Customer Support Space (ACSS). The archive includes vital information such as the current tool version, license configuration, system environment, and any error logs. The feature then opens the ACSS website in a browser so you can attach the archive file and submit your case.


Note:  The archive does not include any project data.


To use the support feature, complete these steps.

  1. In the main menu, select Help > Contact Support....

  2. In the Zip and Prepare Diagnostics File dialog, make sure you copy the Configuration information. Then click Finish to create the Diagnostics.zip file.

    Ansys medini analyze opens the temporary directory where the .zip file has been created. It also opens the ACSS page in your browser.

  3. In the Create Case dialog, fill in the required fields above the Subject text field.

  4. Next, enter a descriptive subject, then copy the Configuration information to the case description.

  5. Add any additional relevant information in the case, such as:

    • Steps to reproduce the issue.

    • A sample project (note the file size limit for attachments)

    • Any screenshots

  6. Upload or drop the Diagnostics.zip file to the case.

  7. When you are finished, click the Create Case button to submit your case.

After you have submitted your case, you will receive an email with your case number and a link to your case. To add more information or to see the case status, you can either reply to the email, or click the Access Case button to open the case in a browser. Note that the email must be formatted as "Original HTML" to see the button.
