16.2. Reliability

Reliability Databases

With release 2021 R1 we start support for reliability data management by means of failure rate databases. A convenient search app is available to browse huge sets of collected components and find the right dataset that matches your design in terms of reliability characteristics.

NPRD and EPRD

The new release comes with two ready to use reliability databases from Quanterion Solutions: the Non-Electronic Part Prediction Database (NPRD) and the Electronic Part Prediction Database (EPRD). Both contain summaries of failure rates and reliability information of more than 1.3 million individual parts and millions of operating hours. Components can be found with the search app and assigned to the current design under analysis.

Improved variable synchronization

User defined variables of blocks (types) in SysML are now synchronized to all parts (if set to derived). In former releases it was necessary to manually create them at the parts in order to perform advanced failure rate adjustment, now these variables behave as if they were coming from a failure rate handbook.
