Using Podman for the Deployment of Core Services

Instructions for deploying Ansys HPC Platform Core Services focus on using the Docker engine to run and build containers. To use Podman instead of Docker, review Podman and Podman Compose Support, and follow these guidelines:

  1. Install Podman. See the Podman Installation Instructions.

  2. Install the podman-remote client. See the Podman remote-client tutorial.

  3. Install Docker Compose. See Overview of installing Docker Compose.

  4. Use the podman compose wrapper to start the containers as follows:

    podman compose --env-file .env_podman up -d
