When using Ansys HPC Platform Services for submission to HPC clusters, there is an obvious mismatch in expectations. HPC environments are built to use traditional HPC methodology where jobs are run as the submitting user (referred to as the 'run as user' scenario).

When using Ansys HPC Platform Services, however, jobs are submitted by an autoscaling service, not directly by users. Therefore, jobs are submitted as the service user. If you want jobs to be submitted as the user who has submitted a project for evaluation (required by most job schedulers), you must deploy the optional Process Launcher component which does this translation.
