Shared Web Licensing Overview

Shared Web Licensing enables multiple users to simultaneously share a pool of product licenses. The licenses in the pool are purchased and hosted on a cloud-based service. Users who have access to this service share the pool of licenses when they start Ansys applications. The number of simultaneously active users are only limited by the initial number of licenses in the pool.

Shared Web Licensing advantages include:

  • High availability: Built-in redundancy maximizes uptime

  • High scalability: The service can handle very high volumes of usage

  • Global access: Licenses can be accessed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection (subject to United States government export regulations), with minimal latency

  • Easy administration from the Ansys Licensing Portal

  • Detailed usage information available

  • Convenient access via Ansys ID Single Sign-On (SSO)
