For structural and thermal analyses, the Degenerated Shape (Beta) property can be specified to have the application use degenerated tetrahedral elements on geometry parts.
Application
Select the Geometry object and set the Element Control property to .
Select the desired body object and specify one of the following for the Degenerated Shape (Beta) property:
(default): The application selects the suitable element type.
: The solver will use linear order degenerated tetrahedral elements. For example, in the case of a structural analysis the application would use SOLID185.
: The solver will use linear order tetrahedral elements. For example, in the case of a structural analysis, the application would use SOLID285.
Note: This property is only applicable for a solid geometry that:
Is not generated from Pull objects.
Is not a rigid body.
Has a linear order tetrahedral mesh.
