2.4.1. Real Gas Property Table

An RGP table is typically created for a single species (one substance) with occasional usage for a fixed composition. Consequently, the usage of an RGP table is not typical for chemically reacting flows. Nevertheless, some Ansys Chemkin reactor models may be effectively used for simulations involving RGP table usage.

You can create your own RGP file. For the information about the RGP file contents and the file format, see the following:

Real Gas Property (RGP) files that have been used in Ansys CFX can also be used in Ansys Chemkin.

In Ansys Chemkin, usage of the RGP table is limited to the gas phase (or "vapor") of a substance. An RGP file contains two materials; these are the liquid phase and the vapor phase of the substance. (Note that the usage of the term material here means phases in the context of the RGP tables.) Ansys Chemkin uses the RGP table data for the second material, which would correspond to the vapor phase. When the option to use an RGP table is chosen, the thermodynamic and, where applicable, the transport properties are evaluated using the RGP table.
