Installing Products using the Ansys Automated Installer


This section includes the steps required for installing Ansys, Inc. products using the Ansys Automated Installer. You can follow these instructions while actually installing the products. To do so, simply use the selections that are pertinent to you and insert your specific information where noted.

Summary of New and Changed Features

The following features are new or changed at Release 2025 R2. Review these items carefully.

  • A new -console command has been added to the "silent" Ansys Installation. When added to the command line, this argument displays the clickwrap licensing agreement and log files.

  • The Ansys Automated Installer has been updated to support Ansys Speos for NX 2506.

  • The Ansys Automated Installer includes the option of using your Ansys ID in conjunction with a proxy server.

  • The Ansys Automated Installer has been updated to include "reader mode" on supported Linux plaforms for select CAD applications.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that you have an account on the Ansys customer site. If you do not have an account, you may register at www.ansys.com/customercommunity to receive your own account.

  • Based upon your license type, have the appropriate product license-specific information available (license file, machine hostname, available port numbers, etc.).

  • You should also verify that you are running on a supported platform.

  • If you have any problems with--or questions about--the installation process, log a Service Request on the Ansys customer site to have a Systems Support Specialist assist you.
